Memoriam

This week we remember the passing of a remarkable cousin -- Joel, Coya or Kuya Joel to the younger ones... A year ago, God snatched this wonderful person from us, perhaps to get him there at God's heavenly rest! St. Dominic said to his brothers before dying, "Do not weep, for I shall be more useful to you after my death and I shall help you then more effectively than during my life." I'm sure that he helps us from the other side.

"Death is the end of earthly life. Our lives are measured by time, in the course of which we change, grow old and, as with all living beings on earth, death seems like the normal end of life. That aspect of death lends urgency to our lives: remembering our mortality helps us realize that we have only a limited time in which to bring our lives to fulfillment: 'Remember also your Creator in the days of your youth, ... before the dust returns to the earth as it was, and the spirit returns to God who gave it' " (Eccl 12:1, 7; CCC 1007).

Please say a prayer for the eternal repose of Coya Joel's soul...
