Debit-Credit

As a physician, I don't have any idea about accounting concepts, but I'm forced to learn it for tax purposes. Hiring accountants is out of the question, unless the service is free. I'm beginning to use the Journal and the Ledger. And then there is this concept of debit and credit, it's so confusing--sometimes I think one item is debit but then it's credit; why are they making things so complicated? Thanks to a lot of on-line accounting sites like accountinginfo.com and others, and of course Joy from Canada. Christian living says that we should not be so concerned about things but we are forced to think about these goods for tax or accounting purposes. Even the things that we share with people go through this accounting process! Anyway, I think there's no way around this issue. "But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things shall be yours as well" (Mt 6.33).
